How Long Does Windows Startup Repair Take
Hi, this is a continuation of sorts from this post.I thought that the root cause of Startup Repair failing-'No OS files found on disk'-would most obviously be solved by inserting my original Windows 7 64 bit installation disk and trying to run Startup Repair again, and I was correct. Now the Startup Repairis running, with the message 'Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete.' I began this process at around 1:00 A.M.
It is currently 8:33 P.M. On 11/17/17 (It has been running for approx. 19 hours and 30 minutes).

The challenge in many cases is the conversion of new sources of energy into useful forms such as electricity, heat and fuel while finding efficient ways of storing and distributing energy. Windows 7 is refusing to boot. So I burned a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit iso to a DVD and started the Startup Repair. I started it at about 5 PM Chicago time yesterday. Its taking more than 24 hours.

My hard driveis 1 TB with around 50 GB of free space. I've read on another forum that this process can take up to three days for a 1 TB hard drive. Is this accurate? At what point I should assume that the repair is no longer working/stuck?
My computer does not seem tobe in any danger of overheating from running the repairs, and the monitor is only slightly warm. Please advise. I saw it here:. Although now I note that the person who posted that has posted only once on the forum. But someone else on that forum said it could take up to 24 hours. Will it corrupt my files even more if I force shut down during a frozen system repair?
Should I remove the Windows 7 Installation disk? I think that may force it to stop, because it wasn't working before I tried using the disk. It won't let me cancel the repair.Edit: I removed the disk at 3:40 P.M. (after over 37 hours) and waited for an hour.
The repair never canceled itself so I forced the PC to shut down at around 4:40 P.M. I think I'm going to wait until Monday before trying to do anything else.
Andrew E.,I'll give your suggestions a try then and I'm aware of these two links that address a similar issue:If anyone else has any more suggestions, please let me know. If none of the other solutions work I'm just going to do a clean install of Windows from my original Installation disk next week.
